What Happened?

🔹 Hungary votes out Orbán after 16 years Péter Magyar's Tisza party won a landslide supermajority on April 12, ending Viktor Orbán's 16-year rule and removing the EU's most prominent far-right nationalist leader from power

🔹 AfD Saxony-Anhalt unveils "remigration" platform The AfD held its party congress in Magdeburg, laying out a radical immigration agenda ahead of September state elections where the party could potentially win its first absolute majority.

🔹 Nitrous oxide ban for minors takes effect From April 12, minors across Germany can no longer legally purchase or possess nitrous oxide, with online sales and vending machine distribution also prohibited.

🔹 Fuel station price cap now in force From April 1, fuel stations across Germany can raise prices only once per day, but may lower them an unlimited number of times — a rule introduced to dampen rising fuel costs caused by disruptions to oil supply through the Strait of Hormuz.

🔹 Frankfurt Airport Terminal 3 opens April 22 A new terminal at Frankfurt Airport will open on April 22, featuring 21 security lanes with updated CT scanners and expanded food and retail areas, with passengers transitioning from Terminal 2 in phases through June 2026.

🔹 Connecticum Berlin - April 21 - 30, Free Entry Germany's largest job fair for students and graduates in engineering, computer science, and economics runs from April 21 to April 30 in Berlin, with around 400 companies from Germany, Europe, and Asia represented.
