Common questions

Is this just another Facebook group?

No. Facebook groups are open, noisy, and completely unstructured. Family49 is a structured, moderated community with organised spaces, regular programming, and a real community standard. It is built for people who want genuine support, not endless scrolling.

What if I am not actively job hunting?

The community covers every aspect of life in Germany, not just jobs. Visa, taxes, language, housing, family life, there is a space for you whatever stage you are at. The Job Seeker Club is for active job hunters, but the broader community covers everything.

What language is the community in?

English is the primary language. Family49 is an international community. Members come from every country and background. What they have in common is Germany, not a shared native language. Deutsch Corner exists to help members improve their German.

Do I need to speak German to join?

Not at all. The community runs in English. Deutsch Corner exists specifically to help members improve their German, whatever level they are starting from. You are welcome whether you are at A1 or B2.
